Instructions Prior To Implant Surgery

      

Medications

If additional medications have been prescribed, follow the instructions that were given.

DO NOT use aspirin for 7 days prior to procedure unless directed to do so by your physician
Antibiotic: Please take the prescribed amount one hour before your appointment.
Analgesic: Please take as prescribed.  (DO NOT take this medication prior to your  appointment.)
Mouth Rinse: Use as prescribed twice a day starting 24 hours after the procedure

 

Eating and Drinking

DO NOT drink alcoholic beverages for 3 days prior to the procedure
DO NOT drink caffeinated beverages, and limit liquid intake for 12 hours prior to the procedure
DO eat a light meal before your appointment

 

Transportation

Normally, patients are capable of driving themselves home after this type of procedure.  But if your appointment is much longer than an hour in duration and you have some doubt about how you might feel after your surgery, you may prefer to have someone escort you home. Patients must not drive when using pain medications containing narcotics.

 

Clothing and Makeup

Please wear loose and comfortable clothing
DO NOT wear makeup

Please bring all medications to the office on the day of your surgery. Please call us if there are any additional questions that you may have.
